From Goodreads:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole introduces The Arcana Chronicles, post-apocalyptic tales filled with riveting action, the dark mysticism of Tarot cards, and breathtaking romance.

She could save the world—or destroy it.

Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

But she can’t do either alone.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side….

My Review:
This is the first book I've read by Kresley Cole, and finaly, I get what all the hype is about! Kresley Cole is an amazing writer and I can't wait to read some of her other books.
And this book is AMAZING! Miss Cole had me compelled right from the first page. I just couldn't stop reading and wanting more.

I find the idea for this book very interesting. It's about the twenty two cards from the Major Arcana tarot deck that come to life in a post-apocalyptic world. They all have special powers which will help them in a battle of ancient prophesy between good vs. evil. Has anybody heard about something like this? I sure haven't! And this is just one of the reasons to love this book even more.

The story is about the girl Evangeline 'Evie' Greene and her life before and after The Flash. Before The Flash she was a girl who had it all, or so it may seem to others, when in fact she had to struggle with the hallucinations. Her mother sent her to a mental institution in hope she'll stop with the hallucinations. When Evie comes home the hallucinations are even worse, and not long after that The Flash happens.
She has lost almost everyone in her life that ment someting to her, her boyfriend, her best friend, and she blames herself for not helping them.

Evie is a really strong character, one you like from the very beginning. She has a lot on her shoulders and throught the book she learns how to deal with many things. It is amazing how much she developed in the book. From a girl who depended on everyone and mostly Jack to the amazingly strong kick-ass heronie.

And for the Jack... Oh yes, definitely a drool material! The relationship between him and Evie made me crazy for the most part of the book. There was sooo much tension between the two it was almost unbarable to stand it. It was there when they were nice to each other, it was there when they were fighting.
Jack is the kind of guy who fears to get hurt and has his guard up all the time, but still knows what he wants and goes for it. While Evie wants the same but just can't lay it all on the table and expects him to do so.

I won't tell more and spoil it for you, but listen to me! You just HAVE to read this book, it is amazing!
