Waiting on Wednesday #47

Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I loved every single book written by Gayle Forman, so I'm just waitnig, not very patiently for that matter, on this one. . .

I Was Here by Gayle Forman I Was Here by Gayle Forman

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.

When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.

I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss.

What's your pick for this week? Leave me a link, and I'll be sure to stop by and check it out!

  2. Huh. I have yet to read a Forman book. Her brand of contemporary isn't really my thing, I think. Though I have not actually read one of her books, so I wouldn't know definitively. Hope you enjoy this one when you read it, Anatea!!

  10. Well, if you like road trip books, you should definitely go with Just One Day! I loved that one. But also the movie If I Stay is coming out soon, so I'd read the book before watching the movie. But either way, you can't go wrong with Gayle. Hope this helps! x
