Waiting on Wednesday #15

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I chose Taken (Taken, #1) by Erin Bowman this week. This one sounds really interesting and I'm excited to read it! Every guy just dissapears on his eighteenth birthday? I can't wait to find out what really hides behind this! And the cover is really, really pretty.

Expected publication: April 16th 2013

From Goodreads:
There are no men in Claysoot. There are boys—but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday. The ground shakes, the wind howls, a blinding light descends…and he’s gone.

They call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby’s eighteenth birthday is mere months away, and he’s prepared to meet his fate–until he finds a strange note from his mother and starts to question everything he’s been raised to accept: the Council leaders and their obvious secrets. The Heist itself. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive.

Climbing the Wall is suicide, but what comes after the Heist could be worse. Should he sit back and wait to be taken–or risk everything on the hope of the other side?

What's your pick for this week? Leave me a link, and I'll be sure to stop by and check it out!

  1. Ooh! Fab pick Anatea-- I love that they all disappear at a certain age. It makes it seem like some kind of epic mystery going on-- and you have to admit that the cover is pretty! (: [My WoW]

  2. I can't wait for this one either! I'm very curious to know what happens to them after they turn 18; living in that kind of world has to be very painful emotionally knowing that you're never going to see certain friends and such again. Brilliant pick, Anatea! :)

    1. Yeah, it must be. This is one dystopia I would never, ever want to be a part of.
